As I peaked out the small window glancing at the clear blue sky from 30,000 feet above, my dad held me on his lap as we flew over the Atlantic ocean. At that moment, I was 3 years old and my family was on the way to starting a new life in Toronto, Canada, leaving Estonia as a distant land of another life. This, is my first memory. Ironic that in 20 years, I would choose to take a one-way flight, moving from Canada to Germany, and like my parents, leave the teens years behind on another continent. Although my first memory was in the distant past, it’s aspects seemed to unknowingly shed light on my future. The blue sky – symbolizing my passion for sustainability and the airplane, symbolizing my passion for travel, movement, and transport.
